Well today I decided to shoot in the house and try and get a shot in for the red challenge. Well my first idea failed spectacularly so I ended up with a ten gallon aquarium half full of red tinted water. So I started looking for a backup.
Well it turned out this shot of an onion, where I was just checking the focus turned out to be a better shot than the onion dropping into the water. I like how the onion ended up looking like a giant (evil) eye looking at me.
Strobist: flash is on the left side of the aquarium. Fired via built in wireless flash at 1/4 power.

Stumbled into Italian Heritage Festival at Seattle City Center over the weekend. And I’m guessing that they don’t need much of an excuse, but a local Ferrari club had a bunch of their cars on display. This guy just happened to have a wheel at the right rotation to make the horse look like it was running.

Well I got up way too early on a Saturday, but I think it may have been worth it. This is a combination of two photos, one taken at the beginning of the lunar eclipse and the second just after the peak of the eclipse, when the moon was nice and red. I didn’t have a ton of length on the lens, so I couldn’t get real close, and I didn’t have a good background to anchor a nice sequence, but I think this works. I’m still not sure if this side-by-side composition was best, or if I should have done one more at an angle like the moon had moved.

Las Vegas may be a neon wonderland, but a lot of stuff is moving to digital displays. But bulbs are easier to replace than broken displays. I just liked the solid colors behind the guy as he reached in to fix it. Reminds me of Mario’s proctologist.
