We neer did make it down to Old Vegas to see the new Fremont Street Experience and some of the classic neon signs. This was taken in the lower level of the MGM, but it was nice all the neon signs stacked up against each other.

No stop in Las Vegas should be complete without a trip to the Neon Graveyard. This was just a sign inside one of the overflow lots. I liked how the Nevada was just peeking out the top of the wall.

I’m not sure a single photo can capture the Neon Boneyard in Las Vegas, but I think this is the best that I could do during my visit. It’s amazing not just the number of different signs, and how they all seem to be randomly placed, but it’s also great to see the different levels of decay in the yard. We went in the afternoon, but still had to fight with the harsh shadows of the desert sun.

Another set of signs at the stacked up at the Neon Boneyard. I really liked the effect of the paint and shadows crossing each other on the sign. It was impressive how good this sign still looked, despite that the skyline falling down.

So this giant skull in the Neon Boneyard isn’t actually neon at all; but the guide said “How can you turn down a giant skull?” He also said it is becoming the face of the museum because it shows up on google maps satellite view. I liked this angle because it gave the impression of a skull without showing it all and also how it was eating the old stardust sign.
