Fall Color:

Fall always produces some really nice colors, and I just really liked how this single yellow leaf looked against the stark gray background of cement.

Rusted Waves:

I’m not sure the name of this sculpture, but it reminds me of a set of waves; in an odd vertical way. But here are two of the units about 6 feet apart, and I thought it created a nice looks overlapped like at this angle.

The Light From Buddha’s Hand:

This one here is a Citron, the fingered or Buddha’s Hand variant. THis is sliced directly from the point where all the fingers are splitting off the main part of the fruit. I had to slice the bottom a bid to get it to stand up. If I try anything on the back to stand it up, it blocks the flash.
Strobist: flash about 1 foot behind orange with homemade snoot. Fired via built in wireless flash at 1/16th power.

Sun on Earth:

Continuing my project of using a flash to backlight fruit, this is an orange. The is a really nice model of the sun in that the changes in opacity remind me of the sun granules.

The Blood Moon:

Sticking with my astronomical names, this is a grapefruit. This one had a really nice color, but I could have used a fresher one with a nicer rind.

Kiwi-Fro:

This was the shot I originally envisioned when I bought a bunch of fruit to shoot. The hairs on this kiwi are what really makes it great, but the center with the strange, yet symmetrical shape is really great.

Star of the Show:

And the final shot of my first round of flashing things from behind is a star fruit. I think I needed a fresher fruit on this one, and tried to figure something out with the excess light on the bottom.
