20th
My old house in Scottsdale, it’s been a long time.
So continuing on my project of shooting things with the flash behind them, illuminating through the subject, I decided to try some onions. This is a vidalia onion, and you can see a few pieces of skin on it if you look closely. I liked that this one had two centers to it.

This was the best of my three onion shots. I really like the green in the middle and the clear whiteness of the rings. Also the angles of refraction in the onion create some nice effects.

Red Echo Rings:
Here is my last onion of this day of images. This was really the one I expected to be really good, but it turned out not to be the best onion. I will defiantly have to retry a red onion again; you just can’t tell what the onions will be until you cut into it. Also as you can see on the bottom my poster board is taking a beating from the juices and needs to be replaced.

This one here is a Citron, the fingered or Buddha’s Hand variant. THis is sliced directly from the point where all the fingers are splitting off the main part of the fruit. I had to slice the bottom a bid to get it to stand up. If I try anything on the back to stand it up, it blocks the flash.
